  3. Had the Dornier Do 335 and the Gotha 
  4. Go 229 both been developed and 
  5. produced in quantities before the end of 
  6. the war, the Luftwaffe would have had an 
  7. awesome one-two combination to counter 
  8. the Allied bombing offensive.  With the 
  9. fastest piston-engine and jet-engine 
  10. fighters of that time, Germany might have 
  11. been able to prolong the war for a few 
  12. months.  However, even these two 
  13. superplanes could not have reversed 
  14. such an overwhelming situation in favor of 
  15. the Axis powers.

  19. Scramble from Munich airfield to provide 
  20. top cover escort for a flight of Go 229s 
  21. taking off from Neubiberg.  You and your 
  22. wingman are to intercept the enemy 
  23. escort fighters while the Gothas attack the 
  24. B-17s.  The ground controller is unsure 
  25. about which installation in Augsburg the 
  26. bombers are targeting, so you'll need to 
  27. be alert and help the Go 229s attack the 
  28. B-17s if necessary.
